Heather Palmer is a Glasgow-based writer, proofreader and editor. She writes with a focus on folklore, nationalism and death. Heather is the first ever comics winner of the Scottish Book Trust New Writers Award (2019) and has been shortlisted for Best Writer at the SICBA Awards in both 2017 and 2018.

She has spoken at events such as The  Edinburgh International Book Festival, where she discussed her work for BHP Comics and 404 Ink’s We Shall Fight Until We Win and her comic about Margaret Thatcher was displayed in the Scottish Parliament as part of the festival of politics.

Her projects include Grave Wax, a supernatural mystery comic and The Second Set, a comedy podcast. She has been published in We Shall Fight Until We Win, Scrieve! and Frisson’s Knock Knock.

Upcoming projects include Smithers&Wing, a queer supernatural detective graphic novel and Bloodline, a supernatural fantasy comic.
